The Helen Keller Integrated Education Society (HKIES) was founded by Mrs Gayathri Raveesh, a trained personnel teaching PWDs particularly deaf children. She is highly qualified in formal deaf education having B.A, B.Ed., and M.Ed., in Deaf Education. Mrs Gayathri Raveesh is a devoted mother whose personal journey with her deaf child ignited a profound mission to transform the landscape of education and support for deaf children. Her unwavering commitment and personal experiences have been the cornerstone of HKIES’s creation and success.
In 1997, Mrs Gayathri faced the profound challenge of raising a child with deafness. As a mother, she encountered numerous obstacles and limitations within the existing educational systems and support networks. These experiences highlighted the gaps and inadequacies in the services available for deaf children, sparking a determination to make a difference.
